Why choose us?

Adoption@Heart is a Regional Adoption Agency

Adoption@Heart is a Regional Adoption Agency (RAA), delivering adoption services for the local authorities and children’s trust within the Black Country region:

  • City of Wolverhampton Council
  • Dudley Council
  • Sandwell Children’s Trust
  • Walsall Council

We welcome applications from those living in the Black Country. We also welcome applications from other areas throughout the West Midlands and neighbouring authorities and counties.

On behalf of the Black Country local authorities and trust, we recruit adopters, find families for children, and provide adoption support.

We are responsible for all children in the four Black Country local authority areas who have a plan of adoption, and we aim to place them with our own adopters first. So, anyone that chooses to adopt with Adoption@Heart, would be considered for children from the four local authorities before adopters from other agencies.

Therefore, we have children of all ages who need permanent and loving homes, from young babies to older children.

Working together as a partnership of local authorities helps to speed up the adoption process therefore improving the life chances of children waiting to be adopted and improving the recruitment and assessment process and support for our adopters. We currently need more adopters so aim to recruit, assess, and approve adopters as quickly as possible.

When you adopt with Adoption@Heart you will:

  • Be considered first for any Black Country children who have a plan of adoption (children from the three Black Country local authorities and Children’s Trust)
  • Have a social worker that works hand in hand with the dedicated Adoption@Heart family finding team for Black Country children
  • Also be considered for children with a plan of adoption from anywhere in the West Midlands and UK wide, equally alongside adopters from other agencies
  • Have an experienced social worker to support and guide you through your adoption process plus access to our duty social worker during office hours
  • Benefit from the expertise of an agency that has worked as a collaboration of Black Country local authorities for many, many years
  • Have access to expert training and guidance to help you become an adoptive parent
  • Have access to lifelong adoption support from our experienced adoption support team
  • Benefit from ongoing training and support groups for as long as you need it
  • Benefit from Adoption UK, New Family Social and CATCH membership which we will pay for your first year as an adopter.
