Working in partnership means we are able to offer a greater range of choice for children and adopters.

Adoption is life-changing and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

We know it’s a big decision, even just to make that first call. Whether you want to adopt straightaway or would just like to know a little more, our friendly team are here to answer your questions, by phone on 0800 073 0597.

Our team of experienced workers understand that the process can seem daunting and will support you throughout your assessment by providing training, one-to-one advice and guidance. We’ll talk you through the process, answer your questions and help you decide if adoption is right for you.

adoption@heart is working with Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall and Sandwell local authorities to find families for their children who are identified for adoption. Some are babies and toddlers, some are a little older, some are brothers and sisters who need to stay together, and some may have uncertainty around their development.

adoption@heart will support you every step of the way to consider the needs of the children for whom you may be able to become a parent. Together, we will consider children who might be perfect for your family from the start of your assessment process so we can find the right families for children at the earliest opportunity.

What is Adoption?

Sometimes, when a child comes into the care of the Local Authority, it isn’t possible for them to return home. We will look at the best options for the child when this happens and, in some cases, the best outcome is adoption.

Adoption is a legal process which transfers all legal responsibility of the child to their new parent(s) and is a permanent, life-long commitment. This offers children who have not had the best start, the opportunity to live happy, healthy, fulfilling lives with their new families. It’s also the chance for you, as an adoptive parent, to begin or complete a family of your own.
